BMW Teams Up with Fashion Brand Kith to Unveil a Very Cool M4
BMW's new M4 hasn't even reached showrooms yet, but the automaker has already revealed its first special edition.
BMW has partnered with New York-based fashion brand Kith to develop a custom M4 Competition coupe, known as the M4 Competition x Kith, of which only 150 will be built worldwide, with orders opened Friday. [Prices start at $110,245 and the car will be delivered in 2021 as a 2022 model. Considering that the stock M4 Competition starts at $75,695, BMW is charging a significant premium for the version by Kith. We suppose that's the price one pays for fashion.
The unique touch to the car was envisioned by Kith founder Ronnie Feig, who owns an E30 M3 with the same modifications you see here.
It begins with a BMW circle on the front that highlights the partnership between BMW and Kith. The theme of the fusion of the two brands continues at the rear, where the word "KITH" appears along with the BMW M color signature. The same motif is also featured on the roof.
The interior also features the word "KITH" and is located on the seats, armrests, and center stack. It also features carbon fiber trim and bucket seats in BMW M colors.
It is available only in Frozen Black, Frozen Dark Silver, and Frozen Brilliant White matte finishes. The red model shown in the gallery was developed as a design study.
All M4 Competition Coupes are powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with maximum output of 503 hp and maximum torque of 479 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. A standard M4 with 473 hp, 6-speed manual and rear-wheel drive is also available. The new M4 series will arrive in showrooms next March as a 2021 model.
