1963 Modena Spyder California from the movie "Ferris Vacation" is for sale.

Barrett-Jackson's Collector Car Auction Company announced Friday that it will add another celebrity car to its auction.

"Barrett-Jackson is . . announced today that it will auction a 1963 Modena Spyder California, serial number GTC001, made famous as the number one hero car in the iconic 1980s movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off," the company said in a news release.

The car will go through the auction block on Saturday as lot 1378. The auction will be televised during "prime time" from 5-6 p.m. Mountain Time.

"Manufactured by Modena Design & Development, the Spyder is one of three Modena's used in the filming of the iconic movie and is offered with no reserve," the auction house said.

"The cult classic film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' made this Modena an instant classic among collectors and moviegoers," company chairman Craig Jackson was quoted in the announcement. This is the first of three Spyders sold to Paramount, and we are confident that seeing it in person will bring back wonderful memories of this iconic film."

According to Barrett-Jackson, the car was recently restored by Neil Glassmoyer, one of the founders of Modena Design.

The car has a carbureted 427cid V8 engine, a tan leather interior with GPS speedometer and Retrosound radio with Bluetooth, and a pair of Blaupunkt amplifiers in the trunk to power 14 hidden speakers

The next owner of the car will also receive movie memorabilia, assembly photos, a 1/24th scale die-cast model and Hot Wheels version, and a certificate of authenticity from Modena Design & Development.
