Jay Leno driving a 1934 Brough Superior 1150.
Jay Leno is a huge fan of Brough Superior motorcycles. He has an entire room in his huge garage dedicated to this historic British motorcycle brand.
The collection includes several models, including what is believed to be the oldest surviving 90cc motorcycle, as well as a huge hand-painted reproduction of the original Brough Superior advertisements in newspapers and magazines.
For readers unfamiliar with Blau Superior, it should be noted that it was founded by George Blau in 1919 and existed in its original form until 1940; the company was revived in 2008 and just last year released a motorcycle co-developed with Aston Martin
The original name of the company was George Blau.
The original Brau Superior was called the Rolls-Royce of motorcycles at the time, not only because of its reputation, but also because of its price, which, according to Leno on a recent episode of Jay Leno's Garage program, was comparable to the cost of a house.
Just over 3,000 motorcycles were built, and several were owned by T. E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia. In one of them he had an accident and actually died, in 1935.
