The Aston Martin V-12 will reportedly be electrified and manufactured in the UK.

Aston Martin has introduced an electrified 3.0-liter V6 engine.

This does not mean that Aston Martin will abandon the 5.2-liter V12 engine. At least not yet.

On Thursday, Autocar reported, citing inside sources, that Aston Martin plans to electrify the V12 engine and move its production to the UK. The engine currently comes from the same Ford plant in Cologne, Germany, as Aston Martin's former 6.0-liter V12 engine.

The V6 engine will also be produced in the UK, but Aston Martin has not yet said where exactly it will be produced. However, Aston Martin has ruled out using Ford's plant in Bridgend, Wales (not far from Aston Martin's new St. Athan plant), which is due to close soon.

The V6 engine will initially be used in the Valhalla hypercar, due to be unveiled in 2022, and will eventually replace the 4.0-liter V8 engine currently used by Aston Martin from Mercedes-AMG.

Aston Martin's versions of the AMG V8 will have 503 and 542 hp. CEO Andy Palmer has previously hinted that the V-6 engine will be more powerful than the V-8, despite the smaller engine displacement.
