2023 Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante Unveiled
Aston Martin has unveiled a Volante version of its DBS 770 Ultimate. The Volante is Aston Martin's term for the convertible.
Limited to 199 units worldwide, all production slots are gone; the coupe version, first unveiled in January, is limited to 300 units and has also sold out.
Like the regular DBS Superleggera Volante, the roof is an eight-layer, self-folding soft top lined with sound insulation and thermal insulation to protect it from noise and weather effects. Taking 16 seconds to unload and operating at a top speed of 31 mph,
the DBS 770 Ultimate is the final member of the DBS line, at least for the time being. Powered by a 759-horsepower version of Aston Martin's twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12, the Volante's 0-62 mph time is 3.6 seconds and its top speed reaches 211 mph. The coupe has the same top speed, but is quicker to 62 mph, 3.2 seconds.
The DBS 770 Ultimate not only has more power over the 715 hp DBS Superleggera, but the chassis has been tuned to a sharper focus and the interior and exterior styling has been tweaked. The most dramatic adjustment is the horseshoe-shaped hood vents, which, like the added fender vents, balance the car's cooling needs and aerodynamics. The extended rear diffuser further improves aerodynamics.
Deliveries of the DBS 770 Ultimate will begin in the third quarter of 2023. Aston Martin has not revealed the price of the car or how many will be sold in the U.S.
With the arrival of the DBS, the DB11 will take over the position of Aston Martin's flagship grand tourer. with looks that rival the DBS. performance, the DB11 will soon receive significant updates and perhaps even a new name.
